I done spent monies!
Mar. 6th, 2010 05:32 pmI just bought this shirt in support of Script Frenzy.
I used to have a navy blue sweatshirt that I decorated myself, with acrylic paint, of a fantastic balloon/sailing ship/rocketship hybrid, that had the words: "Flights of Fancy now Boarding." But I don't have that shirt any more ... don't know what happened to it. That was nearly 20 years ago.
I consider this shirt to be a replacement. (The words on the banner flying behind the Script Frenzy ship read: "Your ticket to Creative Adventure.")
I think that's fair. And the money's going to a non-profit, that promotes creative writing in schools. *nods*
Also, all the long-sleeved tees I have now are full of holes all throughout their torsos. Even the relatively new ones. I can't help but wonder if that's the work of my old washing machine, before I replaced it. So I got this shirt a couple of sizes larger (It will shrink after the first wash), so I could wear it on top, and hide the holes.
I was so looking forward to new episodes of Numb3rs, after the Olympics (really, none of the other broadcast stations even try to compete with the Olympics, even though everyone I know of has only talked about how poorly NBC handled their coverage.), only to learn, last night, that there are only two more new episodes for the entire season! Really? Not even for May (ratings) Sweeps? It probably means that the series will be cancelled, soon, and that CBS will likely do some sort of special "reality" show for sweeps instead.
The notion that the show will be cancelled is something I find depressing.
But not as depressing as the possibility that it will be replaced with a reality show. Because I have nothing to do, and nowhere to go, on my Friday Nights, TV shows are the highlight of my entertainment... When I get upset about losing a favorite show (even as I acknowledge that the writers are running thin on story ideas), it only reminds me how small my world has become.
*sigh*
At least, I'll have script Frenzy to get me through April...
